I did anyways (when I was 10 days old), and yet feature a frightful scar up my right leg from the start time I attempted to amputate my leg with a razor. Mom tried to prevent me from reading Cosmopolitan magazine, which I did anyways sneaking them at night into my room. I get a subscription to this day, although I haven't paid for it in years. My mom tried to induce me go to bed at a decent hour on the weekends. I still don't, and people wonder why I ever ask them, "remember that skit on Saturday Night Live back in the early 90's?" My mom grounded me for dying my hair with Glints hair color when I was in 8th grade. To this day, I nevertheless believe there is nothing a box of hair dye can't do better. But most importantly, my mom tried to save me from watching Madonna videos on MTV (back in the good old days of MTV) and she failed miserably. I've seen Madonna in concert three times and she still remains one of my idols. The first video she banned me from watching was Madonna's Like a Virgin. I didn't yet recognize what a virgin meant, but I knew every lyric to that song by the sentence I was 6. I'm not certain if was the "Boy Toy" belt, the topic, or the office where Madonna almost hits her mind on the span in the master video, but mom didn't wish it and I loved it.The second video mom banned me from was Madonna's Open Your Heart:I can think the video coming on, and yet though I knew every single lyric because my aunt had minded me True Blue for my 7th birthday, she wouldn't let me see it. One night, the picture came on and she said, "Get this off!" and I threw my baby blanket over the TV and said, "Let me just listen to it!". even though I had already seen the picture at about point - probably up to my Grandparents house with my cousins. Then she tried to prevent me from Express Yourself which I love for a fact I watched up to my Grandparents house. When Mary opened the MTV Music Awards in 1989, I was sent to bed. Little did my mom know I was hiding behind the big red leather chair in the living room taking in every second of Madonna's best MTV performance ever.I know the Everybody tease in the beginning. And finally mom tried to ban me from Justify My Love, which she by default was successful at because it was prohibited from TV - the first video banned from MTV at the time. She failed though because I knew all the speech by the sentence I was 12, and would sing them while I played dress up in my bedroom. She failed on two accounts though with this one though because I got the center of the picture from when I was up sneaking around, with a gallon tub of Chocolate Fudge Ripple ice cream, watching the Saturday Night Live Wayne's World Truth or Dare sketch.
